Auditions for the Golduster Dance Team occur each spring. The audition is a one-day process beginning in the morning with check-in and ending around 8:00 in the evening with the announcement of the team and a team dinner/meeting. The audition is workshop style with emphasis on jazz technique, pom dance and choreography.
The attire for the audition is black dance shorts and a fitted white tank or short-sleeved shirt (no baggy T-shirts please). Girls can wear hair however they like, but it is required that hair be out of the face.
There will be a panel of several judges, primarily the band staff and the possibility of one or two special guests, who will select the team for the upcoming season. Candidates will be judged not only on technical ability and physical fitness but also performance ability (overall presentation).
The Golduster Dance Team will be announced following the audition.
