Auditions for the Golduster Dance Team will occur on Saturday, April 24, 2010. The audition is a one-day process beginning in the morning with check-in and ending around 8:00 in the evening with the announcement of the team and a team dinner/meeting. The audition consists of three sessions, each focused on a different dance style. Candidates learn a short pom routine, jazz sequence, and a sideline. These routines incorporate fundamental skills such as kicks, leaps, and turns.
The attire for the audition is black shorts and a fitted white tank or short-sleeved shirt (no baggy T-shirts please). Girls can wear hair however they like, but it is required that hair be out of the face.
No individual choreography is needed prior to the audition. There will be a panel of several judges, primarily the band staff and the possibility of one or two special guests, that will select the team for the upcoming season. Candidates will be judged not only on technical ability and physical fitness but also performance ability (overall presentation).
The Golduster Dance Team will be announced following the audition.
