Purdue University of West Lafayette Indiana       The Greater Lafayette area has one of the nation's largest universities, Purdue University. More than 36,000 students are enrolled at Purdue's West Lafayette campus, where some 6,700 courses in more than 200 specializations are offered. Purdue has a graduate school and 12 undergraduate schools.

Ivy Tech State College Lafayette Indiana Ivy Tech State College is Indiana’s second largest state-supported institution of higher learning, offering professional, technical and general education courses on fourteen regional campuses.
Ivy Tech’s Region 4 serves Tippecanoe County and all surrounding counties. The main campus is located in Lafayette, and instructional centers are located in Crawfordsville in Montgomery County and Frankfort in Clinton County. Ivy Tech has a statewide enrollment of over 62,500 with an enrollment of over 5,300 students at its campuses in the Lafayette region.

Ivy Tech offers associate degrees and technical certificates in business, health sciences, public services and technology. Ivy Tech is a community college partner, adding associate degrees in liberal arts from Vincennes University that can be earned in the Lafayette region. Indiana Business College Lafayette Indiana Indiana Business College also caters to non-traditional students with evening classes and degree opportunities in business-related areas, such as accounting, business management and computer science.
 

 
There are three public school systems in the Greater Lafayette Area- Lafayette School Corporation, West Lafayette School Corporation and Tippecanoe School Corporation - that educate approximately 25,000 students annually.
The area's elementary, middle and high schools boast the prestigious 4-Star honors from the State of Indiana for placing in the top 25% in attendance, math proficiency, language arts and state testing.

The Lafayette schools have also received the Blue Ribbon National School of Excellence that is awared by the U.S. Department of Education.

Greater Lafayette's public school system offers challenging curriculum, multi-age classrooms, and extended calendar options. Students with special physical, mental or emotional needs are served by the Greater Lafayette Area Services, a joint program of the three public school systems that offers services beyond everyday classroom experiences.

The Greater Lafayette area also has a selection of private schools and several religion-based institutions that provide more educational options.

Purdue University and local industries attract people from around the world. The classrooms reflect this diversity, at Klondike Elementary School, for example, more than 40 countries are represented!

 

 
Greater Lafayette's youngest learners benefit from an extensive network of nursery schools, daycare centers and early childhood schools. Several public and private schools offer extended-day kindergarten programs, and organizations such as the YMCA and YWCA that partner with the elementary schools to offer before- and after-school care.
